My name is Rashmi Kelkar, mother of two little boys, wife to a successful career-focused man and entrepreneur, and an entrepreneur myself. This personal blog is a journey of mompreneurship from the conception of motherhood and a business idea. Whether it is a corporate job, or starting your own business, there are challenges to be faced which can be overcome by hard word, smart work, sheer commitment and support from those around you. This blog is the perfect platform to share my experience of a mixed motherhood & entrepreneurship with other parents, and for others to share theirs.
Our little family resides in the stunning city of Perth, Australia. Did you know there is no city in the world of comparable size that is as remote as Perth? We have beautiful friends and family who surround us, and there is a very strong feeling of community in this place. I will be sharing photos of my city and surroundings in this blog, and I guarantee you would want to visit!
My professional background is in banking, and I have held roles such as Commercial Banking Manager and Private Banking Manager in my days at one of the biggest banks in Australia. There, I was responsible for millions of dollars of client and bank funds, and for sales management. I worked my way up the corporate ladder starting as a Graduate Trainee and an Associate. I was able to achieve all this in 7 years since graduating from University. That experience is absolutely invaluable to everything I do today in my business and there are so many learnings to share.
My 7 years ended with the news of a baby in my belly. It was the happiest day in my life! Motherhood certainly was a joyful challenge with my first baby, and it continues to be with the second. As I was used to working long hours at my job, it was very difficult to come to terms with a stay at home schedule. Therefore since starting my international business, things have really been looking up at home for me, the kids, and the husband. I love being home and feeling that same sense of achievement and more.
Thank you for visiting my blog, and I hope you enjoy reading about my birth as a mompreneur. I would love to hear your stories and read your blogs as well, so please do contact me and we will be in touch! 🙂
